Md. Saidul Huq , a visual impaired person, has been played a pioneering role in organizing this platform. He lost his eyesight at age of six by Typhoid. Despite this barrier, he continued his study and got his Graduation and Master’s Degree from prestigious Dhaka University and joined in teaching profession at Motijheel T & T College and Special Education Centre at Dhaka. He was moved by the miserable condition of PWDs in Bangladesh and his compassion to serve the humanity prompt him leave the job and devoted his entire life to the cause of PWDs. He organized BERDO in 1991 and since than has been striving to bring a positive change in the lives PWDs in Bangladesh. His unwavering efforts, bought him many national and international recognition. At national level, government had recognized his outstanding contribution and innovative solution by awarding second highest civil award    “EKUSHA PADAK “and internationally “ASHOKA FELLOWSHIP” from USA (1994), Robert S. McNamara Fellowship (2001) and Reinhard Mohn Fellowship (2002). Besides, he participated in many international workshops, Seminars, Dialogues that were held in Belgium, Germany, Singapore, Malyasia, India, Japan and Netherlands.
